WHY DO CHIROPRACTORS TAKE X-RAYS?
At Gonstead Family Chiropractic, we don’t guess—we assess. Digital X-rays give us a clear picture of your spinal alignment, disc spacing, and structural health. That means safer, more effective care tailored to you—not a generic adjustment.
We only take X-rays when clinically necessary, based on your age, history, and symptoms.
WHAT CHIROPRACTIC X-RAYS HELP US SEE:
- Spinal misalignments and posture distortion
- Disc degeneration or spacing changes
- Previous injuries, trauma, or scar tissue
- Curvatures like scoliosis
- Structural causes of chronic back pain, neck pain
- Vertebral rotation or tilting (Gonstead analysis)
- Signs of instability or contraindications
X-RAY SAFETY: WHAT PATIENTS SHOULD KNOW
We use digital X-ray systems with modern shielding and positioning. Radiation exposure is very low—similar to a short airplane flight. For pregnant patients, we do not take X-rays and provide alternative evaluation methods.
X-rays are typically taken only at the start of care, or if new symptoms arise later.
OUR APPROACH TO STRUCTURAL EVALUATION:
We follow the Gonstead Technique, which relies on precise spinal imaging and analysis. This lets us deliver exact adjustments to the correct vertebra—without guesswork.
Your evaluation may include:
- Consultation and spinal examination
- In-office digital X-rays (if clinically needed)
- Full spine review using Gonstead analysis
